Introducing the 2025 Boulder Colors subscription: Colors of the World! You guessed it, we’ll be traveling the world to learn about ancient and contemporary natural dye practices from different cultures all over the world! We can’t wait to share the amazing things we learn and vibrant colors we make along the way with you. Here’s how it works: we’re going to be exploring three different areas in each country we visit so each country's spotlight will last for three months. The monthly envelopes include a letter from our travel journals detailing our family’s real experiences traveling, some more detailed “field notes” about a specific topic we learned about, and of course: paint made from locally sourced materials in our host countries! A few fun things to come over the months and years: paint with real Maya Blue pigment made from Guatemalan indigo, learn to paint the northern lights with Scandinavian berries, bask in luxury with paints made from spices worth more than gold from the Silk Road, maybe even try a new edible paint or two along the way!

Here’s a sample quarter featuring our first stop and what you can expect to learn:
First stop: Oaxaca and the joys of long distance road tripping with young travelers in a foreign country… Field Notes: Maker spotlight on local rug making families and the ancestral dye practices they still use today. Paint: Mexican tarragon and what makes this dye extra lightfast! (quarter pan) Next stop: The truly magical experience of the butterfly forests of Michoacan! Who knew avocados would be the villain in this story?! Field Notes: Butterfly conservation info and practical tips. Paint: Charred Milkweed that in turn supports real butterfly conservation efforts in Texas and Mexico! (half pan, ethically sourced outside of protected areas) Last Stop: Mexico City. Field Notes: The life of Frida as told through her favorite flowers. Paint: Frida’s flower crown dot card (4 pastel colors) |

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- This is a completely different subscription than 2024 under different pricing and structuring so you must sign up as a new 2025 member to continue.
- This will be the theme for the foreseeable future and there WILL be the option to renew annually from now on.
- Enrollment is always open and not limited to any sign up windows.
- The monthly payments will come in the form of invoices but there is an option to save payment for auto-pay so you don’t need to actively pay a bill each month.
- Annual prepay gets one month free!
